A Grand and Necessary Conversation
Last month, January 2024, the World Economic Forum held its 54th annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, welcoming the world’s most influential players in global business. This year’s conference focused on rebuilding trust. The conference was titled: “The Fundamental Principles of Trust.”
Leaders concentrated on six critical themes: Economic resilience, energy transformation, globalization, productive artificial intelligence, strengthening institutions, and women's health.
When I read about this year’s forum and talked with people who attended, I felt vindicated. Finally (in 2024), people of power appear to be placing high value on trust depletions; a critical issue that must be addressed for the sake of evolution, which clearly includes business.
For more than six years I’ve detected, observed, recorded, and analyzed professional and societal ground-level actions, or a lack of action, that contribute to a miscommunication ripple and ultimately a massive societal trust depletion. Generally speaking, trust depletions don’t just come out of thin air, they are daily, tiny events that directly correlate to how human beings communicate, miscommunicate, or are forced to communicate in our Pavlovian social media society. These findings built Anna Michele Communications. *Ding, ding!
Take a moment to consider the following: You know what I’m talking about. Every day, you experience the problem(s), especially at work. Vaguely, after you experience the miscommunication, you more than likely express the frustration by venting to a friend, or confidante, when your conscious mind observes the negative emotion connected to X problem, yet you potentially categorize it as “life,” or a minor nuisance that just “is.” Or, you sense the issue is deeply-rooted and problematic and it decreases your faith (or hope) and you feel powerless in finding a solution. Potentially you shut down and the problem grows and grows. In general, these are the misunderstandings and processes I’m referring to that lead to trust depletions.
In an AMC reminder, trust is “Choosing to make something important to you, vulnerable to the actions of someone else,” according to Charles Feltman. At Anna Michele Communications we break down the fundamental principles of trust, and draw parallels to awareness and effective communication, to generate productive and positive results with leaders and teams. For instance, when AMC consults new clients, first we analyze trust in an AMC Masterclass called Trust: a deep, three-fold practice:
Earning self-trust
Earning others’ trust
Generating the ability to trust others
Trust is the most powerful and challenging journey one can endure. At AMC we want to work with professionals ready to reinstill trust in industry.
This Wednesday, I ask you to join me as I moderate a grand and necessary conversation about trust and data privacy. This topic impacts us personally and professionally. The Inforum + MobiliyNext event: “Building Trust in a Connected World,” features prominent industry change agents & data privacy experts, Cindy Warner, 360ofme's founder and CEO, and Diya Wynn, Responsible AI Lead at Amazon Web Services. *They're kind of a big deal.
According to 360ofme, data has been deemed the new oil, yet few businesses invest in trustworthy data practices and prioritize trust as a KPI.
We look forward to generating a powerful conversation, with professionals like you, that want to increase client trust and positively impact business for a better future.
